CHURUBUSCO -- James Strong, 64, of Churubusco, passed away at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
Mr. Strong was born on June 6, 1948 in Fort Wayne, a son of Cecil and LaVon (Disler) Strong. He spent his formative years in Churubusco.
After high school Mr. Strong served his country in Vietnam in the United States Army.
His wife Frances preceded him in death.
The surviving relatives include his mother, LaVon Strong; a brother, Michael Strong of Churubusco; six stepchildren; a niece, Kate (Derek) McDowell of Churubusco; a nephew, Nick (Tara) Strong of Churubusco.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, with Pastor Paul D. White, officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday.
Burial will be in the Highland Park Cemetery.
