CHURUBUSCO -- Pauline McBride, 89, of Churubusco, passed away at 7:10 a.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at her residence in Churubusco. Mrs. McBride was born on February 14, 1923 in Churubusco, a daughter of Bert J. and Edith (Bice) Grim. She spent her formative years in Huntertown, and graduated from Huntertown High School in 1941.

On June 7, 1941 she was married in Angola to Ralph R. McBride, and moved from Huntertown to Churubusco where she had lived since 1949.

She was a homemaker. She loved her dogs, watching birds, and the flowers grow.

Her spouse preceded her in death on November 13, 1992.

The surviving relatives include two sons, Rodger (Jeanette) McBride of Huntertown and Steven C. McBride of Churubusco; three daughters, Gayle Ross of Savannah, GA, Kathy (Dan) Nichter of Columbia City, and Marilyn (Rusty) Reed of Churubusco; nine grandchildren and one stepgrandchild; 16 great-grandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Grace Surface and Blanche Kumfer Kurtz.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, with Rick Van Horn, officiating.

The family will receive friends & family at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, or one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Huntertown.
