AVILLA--Helen S. Jetmore, 101, a resident of Avilla and widow of Charles Jetmore, passed away at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2012, at the Provena Sacred Heart Home in Avilla.
Mrs. Jetmore was born on November 2, 1910 in Adams County near Berne, a daughter of Lewis Maynard and May (Dull) Sapp. She and her husband had lived in various parts of the country during their married lives, and had lived in Baton Rouge, Louisiana for a period where she retired from the credit department at J. C. Penney.
She had lived in this area since 1996.
Mr. Jetmore preceded her in death.
Among the surviving relatives are two nephews, Ren Sapp of Elkhart and James Bowman of Fort Wayne; and two sisters-in-law, Anna Jetmore of Huntertown and Lois Jetmore of Fort Wayne.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 27, 2012 at St. Patrick's Cemetery near Arcola with Chaplain Tom Novy, officiating. Interment will follow.
At the request of Mrs. Jetmore, there will be no calling hours.
Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco is in charge of the arrangements.
