NEW HAVEN -- Lynn L. Louden, 60, a life-long resident of New Haven, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at home.
Born September 25, 1951, he was the son of the late Harold W. “Freddy” and Charlotte B. Louden. He was a graduate of Woodlan Jr./Sr. High school and IPFW. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and was a two year member of the special Military Police Unit guarding Lt. William Calley at Fort Benning, Ga. He was an officer of USWA Local 715. He retired from Uniroyal Goodrich in Woodburn after 40 years of service. He enjoyed his family and sports, especially the Detroit Tigers and the Indiana Hoosiers.
Surviving are his three sons, Matthew (Sarah) Louden of Churubusco, Andrew (Susan) Louden of Harlan and Marcus (Ann) Louden of Woodburn; six grandchildren, Morgan, Austin, Madison, Eliza, Ty and Hannah; two great-grandchildren, Lillian and Addilyn; two sisters, Cynthia Louden of Lansdale, Pa. and Cheryl (David) Decker of Cincinnati, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by an infant brother.
The family received friends from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Hockemeyer Funeral Home, 17629 State Road 37, Harlan, Ind.
Interment in Marion National Cemetery.
Preferred memorials to Harlan Park Athletic Association (HPAA) or the VA Hospital of Fort Wayne.
