FORT WAYNE -- Patricia “Patty” Bornkamp, 81, passed away Monday, May 17, 2010, at St. Francis Hospital, Evanston.
Born in Fort Wayne, she worked as a stenographer with NIPSCO for 32 years, retiring in 1986. She was also a member of Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church.
Surviving are her daughter, Laura Gooley of LaOtto; son, Mark Bornkamp of Fort Wayne; grandsons, Matthew Rasler and David Bornkamp, both of Fort Wayne and Daniel Bornkamp, granddaughters, Erin Rasler of Chicago, Ill., Jennifer Rasler of Fort Wayne, Anna Marie Gooley of LaOtto and Emily Wallace; two great-grandchildren; and sisters, Betty Clemmer and Georgeann (Raleigh) Myers, both of Fort Wayne. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto Rudolph and Georgia Henrietta Borkenstein; husband, David E. Bornkamp; and sisters, Doris Jellison, Nancy Jasper and Marilyn Schmidt.
Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, 7215 St. Joe Road, with calling one hour prior. Msgr. Bruce Piechocki officiating. Calling also from 5-8 p.m. today at D. O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue.
Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne.

KENDALLVILLE -- Bill Bryant, 74, of Kendallville, died on Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville.
Mr. Bryant was born in LaGrange County, Indiana on October 19, 1935, to the late Raymond Royal and Alberta (Martin) Bryant.
He graduated from Kendallville High School in 1954 and married Bonnie Kay White on March 24, 1967 in Ligonier, Indiana.
Bill retired from Silgan Plastics in Ligonier after more than 40 years of service. He also worked at the Shell Station in Kendallville for six years after he retired.
Bill enjoyed traveling the west, panning and mining for gold. He liked to research his ancestry, collect coins, play golf, go bowling and fishing and hunting. Bill was a gardener and he enjoyed going mushroom hunting. He was a past chairman of the Marshmallow Festival in Ligonier, past member of the Ligonier Jaycees and past president of the P.T.O. He also was a member of the First Christian Church in Kendallville.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Bonnie Bryant of Kendallville; four daughters, Mindy (David) Kyle of Goshen, Linda Matchett of Ligonier, Lisa (Mark) Teders of Avilla, and Beth Brown of Churubusco, a son, Michael Bryant of Fort Wayne; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Jim (Joan) Bryant of Wolcottville; stepbrother, Bob (Carol) Bryant of Connecticut; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, Anthony and Kaelie Cusick and his brother, Harold Bryant.
Funeral services were Saturday, May 15, 2010, at Hite Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Farmer officiating.
Burial was at South Milford Cemetery.
Preferred memorials may be made to the First Christian Church or to Parkview Noble Hospice.

FORT WAYNE -- Harry W. Archer, Jr., 83, of Fort Wayne, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2010 at his home.
Born in Marion, he worked as a sheet metal worker for 40 years. He was a member of V.F.W. 857, and American Legion 8. He was a devoted husband and father who cherished his grandchildren and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene “Diz” Byall Archer of Fort Wayne; daughters, Penny (Bill) Myers and Connie (Marshall) Taylor, both of Wolcottville, and Pam McCarty of Fort Wayne; sons, Jerry (Susan) Archer of Fort Wayne and Terry (Cindy) Archer of LaOtto; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 55 years, Helen, in 1999; parents; one great-grandchild; and sister, Lavada Watson.
Service is 10 a.m. Monday at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue, with Pastor Al Wingfield and Vicker Phil Rittner officiating. Calling is from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens, with Military graveside service by V.F.W. Post 857.

FORT WAYNE -- Donna Jean Stanford, 71, a resident of Fort Wayne and widow of Michael Patrick Stanford, passed away at 4:20 p.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at the St. Anne Home in Fort Wayne following an extended illness.
Mrs. Stanford was born in Fort Wayne on November 7, 1938, a daughter of Orvle and Viola Puryear. She was a lifelong resident of Fort Wayne, and graduated from Central Catholic High School.
She was married to Michael Patrick Stanford, who preceded her in death in 1997. A homemaker, she was a member of the ladies auxiliaries of the Moose Lodge and American Legion Post 499.
The surviving relatives include her sons and daughters-in-law, Patrick M. and Tonya Stanford of Churubusco and Michael P. and Sherri Stanford, Jr. of Fort Wayne; a brother and sister-in-law, Louis and Christine Krock of LaOtto; a half-sister Gail; and six grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Krock.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 25, 2010, in the chapel at the St. Anne Home, 1900 Randallia Drive, Fort Wayne, with Father Jack Overmyer, the celebrant.
The family will receive friends at the chapel after 12 noon on Tuesday until the hour of the service.
Interment will be in the Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne.

AVILLA -- Arden L. Pease, 88, passed away Monday, May 17, 2010, at Provena Sacred Heart Home, Avilla.
Born in Adams County, he was the owner of Pease Machine & Tool for 25 years, retiring in 1983. He was an avid golfer (who in 1984) purchased Limberlost Golf Course of Rome City and ran it for four years. He was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church and the Elks Lodge.
Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Catherine Pease of Avilla; son, Kenneth (Anna) Pease of El Paso, Texas, daughter, Ruth Ann Egloff of Avilla; son, Michael Pease of Angola; daughter, Sandra (Thomas) Mast of Avilla; son, Timothy (Julie) Pease of Kendallville; daughters, Patricia (Don) Rahrer of Churubusco and Deborah Diehl of Kendallville; sisters, Jill Garringer of Fort Wayne and Helen Lemaster of Portland; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, Carl and Jack Pease; and sisters, Joan Zurcher and Jean Eastwood.

FORT WAYNE -- Lee A. Brumbaugh, 49, a native of Arcola and a resident of Fort Wayne, passed away at 2:20 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2010, at Canterbury Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Fort Wayne following an extended illness.
Mr. Brumbaugh was born in Arcola on January 31, 1961, a son of Arnold and Marjorie (Gross) Brumbaugh. He graduated from Carroll High School, and was a lifelong resident of Allen County. He was a member of the Arcola United Methodist Church.
The surviving relatives include his mother, Marjorie Brumbaugh of Fort Wayne; a sister, Arleen (Sam) Monk of Elletsville; and three nieces. He was preceded in death by his father.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, at Arcola United Methodist Church with Pastor Harold Klinker, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Private burial will be in the Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam.
