CHURUBUSCO -- Brian Dean Smith, 48, of Churubusco, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2014.

Surviving are sons, Nicholas Smith and Lucas H. Smith both of Churubusco; and one grandchild.

Service is 11 a.m. Monday at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, with calling one hour prior. Calling also 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial in Riverview Cemetery, Allen County.

FORT WAYNE -- Roger Egolf, 93, a resident of Fort Wayne and a native of Smith Township in Whitley County, passed away at 11:35 a.m. on Monday, March 10, 2014 at Harbour Assisted Living in Fort Wayne. He had been in failing health for the past month.

Mr. Egolf was born on March 16, 1920 in Smith Township in Whitley County, a son of Paul and Alta Lenore (Hawk) Egolf, and spent his formative years on the family farm there. He graduated from Churubusco High School and as a young man served with the U.S. Army during World War II.

CHURUBUSCO -- Merle F. Stienbarger, 91, of Churubusco, passed away at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at home in Churubusco.

Mr. Stienbarger was born on June 6, 1922 in Brimfield, a son of Walter Samuel and Geneva (Cler) Stienbarger. He spent his formative years in Allen County, and graduated from Huntertown High School.

On January 15, 1941 he was married in Columbia City to Eunice Willene Jones, and moved to his present farm in Eel River Township in 1954.

CHURUBUSCO -- Vivian Rosalie Hurst, 93, of Churubusco, passed away at 2:15 a.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Lutheran Life Village at Pine Valley in Fort Wayne.

Mrs. Hurst was born on April 26, 1920 in Warsaw, a daughter of Harry R. and Nellie (Stafford) Wilkinson.

On November 24, 1938 she was married to Ivan Eugene Hurst, and moved from South Bend to Churubusco where she had lived since 1964.

NEW MEXICO -- Marilyn Jean Travis Young, 79, loving daughter, sister, mother and nurse passed away February 5, 2014 near Santa Fe, New Mexico. She was the daughter of Bertiel Bennett and Donald Vance Travis.

Lyn was a graduate of St. Joseph's School of Nursing and became a registered nurse, first working for Dr.  Richard Stoffer as an orthopedic surgical nurse in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. While there she met her husband of 38 years, Ted Young. Together they moved to Grand Haven, MI where she began her career at North Ottawa Community Hospital in the ICCU. She was also involved in labor relations and starting the hospital workers' union there. During this time she received a Master's Degree from Western Michigan University.

CHURUBUSCO -- Beverly J. Folds, of Churubusco, passed away on Monday, February 3, 2014.

She was born February 3, 1930. On August 15, 1950, she married Milton W. Folds, Jr. He preceded her in death.
