Adam Skiles, Smith-Green Community Schools Director of Business & Technology, submitted his letter of resignation effective January 8, 2010.
"It is with a heavy heart that I submit my resignation," Skiles said at the S-G School Board meeting Monday night.

Skiles, who started out as the IT director at Smith-Green in 2005, was recently hired as the Network Engineer for Huntington County Community Schools. He took the position to be closer to home and to be more available to spend time with his wife and three kids--plus one on the way.
"I can't thank the Board and staff enough for this opportunity," Skiles said of his position as Business and Technology Director. "I've learned a lot. Thank you for all of the support."
Board members reluctantly approved Skiles' resignation, noting that they would greatly miss him.
"You have been a big part of improving technology for teachers and students," Board member Cathy Petrie said.
Superintendent Steve Darnell said Skiles was a big asset for the Corporation and his resignation would be a big loss for the District.
In addition to Skiles' resignation, Speech/Language Pathologist Judy Welti submitted a letter of resignation effective January 22, 2010. Nancy Becker, Director of Special Education, said speech pathologists are hard to come by and Welti's position will be difficult to fill.
Also, Bus Driver Pat Snavley submitted a letter stating her intent to retire at the end of the 2009-2010 school year after several years of service to the District. She will stay on as a substitute driver.
