The library staff and board invite all community members to celebrate the 100 year milestone with them at a celebration on Saturday, July 26. The library will host an open house from 1-4 p.m., with the Summer Reading Program Finale at 1 p.m., Library of the Future prizes at 2 p.m. and cake cutting and ceremony at 3 p.m.

CPL is also hosting a summer concert from 1:30-6:30 including musical stylings from rock, country and bluegrass genres, in addition to Churubusco bagpipers and local favorite Swick and Jones.

The Churubusco Town Council held a public hearing last Wednesday evening regarding a proposed ordinance to limit the use of fireworks within town limits.

The Council proposed the ordinance following several complaints from concerned citizens.

Carryout dinners are provided along with tables for inside or outside pavilion dining.

All proceeds go for the benefit of “Outreach Ministry.”

The Ice Cream Social is a freewill donation event, and all proceeds will be used to maintain the Community Center. This year the Green Township 4-H will hold a car wash and a bake sale during the social. The center is located on 300 South just west of 300 East in Noble County.

The Churubusco Church of the Nazarene held a Kids Day Celebration on Sunday to recognize the kids in the congregation. Christian Illusionist Terry Owens, a pastor in Fort Wayne and world-renowned magician, entertained young and old alike at the 10 a.m. service. The service was followed by a fun-filled day of outdoor entertainment, including three bounce houses, a dunk tank, free lunch and dessert, cotton candy, an indoor maze and various games.

Illusionist Terry Owens was recently named “Fort Wayne Magician of the Year” and has been seen by millions of people in 170 countries on two major Christian television networks with his children's inspirational program called “Kids Thought.”
