Glen “John” and Mid (Ott) Anderson, Churubusco, are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. The Andersons were married on August 20, 1960 by the late Rev. Orr at Merriam Christian Chapel. Glen is a lifetime farmer and retired from Chain O’ Lakes State Park. Mid is employed at Egolf’s IGA. They have five children, Carla, Tipton; Dora, Bedford, Virginia; Jodi, Huntertown; and John and Tara, both of Churubusco; and 11 grandchildren. An Open House hosted by their children is Saturday, September 4 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Allen County Fairgrounds.

Santford and Betty Lou (Gandy) McClellan of Churubusco celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with family and friends. They were married August 5, 1950 at Merriam Christian Chapel by the late Rev. Franklin Orr. They spent most of their married life on a farm near Ari before moving to Churubusco. Santford retired from Zollner Corp. and farming. Betty Lou retired from Parkview Hospital. They had two children, a son, the late Timothy McClellan and a daughter, Susan (Bobbie) Osborn. They also have two granddaughters, Crystal (Andy) Rayburn and Crystine Davis and three great-grandchildren.

John and Linda Barrett recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married on June 29, 1960 at Sheppard Air Force Base in Texas, where John served in the Air Force. They have three children, Kari (Michael) Hyndman, John Curtis (Paula) Barrett and Joel (Kammi) Barrett and 12 grandchildren. They greeted family and friends at a Rock n’ Roll party hosted by their children and grandchildren at the Blue Lake Community Building on June 27. They also had a surprise celebration hosted by the Bunco Babes at JR’s Drive Inn in Wolf Lake, where they first met and had their first date. John retired from Indiana State Police after 27 years, Avilla Town Marshal for five years, Investigator for the Whitley County Prosecutor’s Office for 15 years and currently serves as Whitley County Councilman, District 1 and works part-time security for the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department. Linda retired from Churubusco United Methodist Nursery School as Teacher/Director after 27 years.

George and Betty (Greenwell) Bingham of Churubusco will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary July 25. The couple has four children, Gary Bingham, Yvonne (Nick) Bianski, Christine (Larry) Fisher and Stacy Bingham, all of Churubusco; also eight grandchildren and four great-

Luther and Becky Gross, Churubusco, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 18 by spending a week with thier family in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. The week was spent swimming, hiking, horseback riding and, of course, fly-fishing in several of the streams in the Smoky Mountian National Park.
