Northeast Indiana General Assembly Candidate Forum. 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Holiday Inn, Fort Wayne, IPFW and Coliseum. Free public forum for area candidates running for the Indiana General Assembly. A short reception will follow. Sponsored by the Northeast Indiana Disability Advocacy Coalition. CART and ASL interpreters will be provided.

Wings at the American Legion, 115 S. Main Street, Churubusco, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. 75¢ each or 10 with fries for $8.50. Call 693-6263 to order for pickup or delivery. Delivery to local businesses for five or more orders.

Megan Young & Andy Spencer Annual Memorial Picnic Benefit. 2 to 6 p.m. at the Young’s home located on the curves in Collins at 5485 State Road 205, Columbia City. Food, live music, swimming, volleyball, group prayer, balloon release and fellowship. Freewill donations applied to the scholarship funds in memory and honor of Megan and Andy. Donations may be sent to Whitley Co. Community Foundation/Megan Young & Andy Spencer Memorial Scholarships, 400 North Whitley Street, Columbia City, IN 46725.

Blood Drive at Faith Lutheran Church, Community Room, 9251 E. SR 205, Churubusco, from 1 to 6 p.m. Please call 1-800-RED CROSS or go to redcrossblood.org, sponsor code “flcchurb” to schedule your blood donation appointment.

October 4
Annual Chicken BBQ hosted by Arcola Volunteer Fire Department at the fire station, 11329 Railroad Street, from 4 to 7 p.m. $8 for 1/2 chicken dinner, $6 for 1/4 chicken dinner, $6 1/2 chicken only (no sides). Dine in or carry-out available.

Fall Clean-up Day in Churubusco. Place items at curbside Friday night.

Fall Festival at Green Center, 4 to 8 p.m. All you can eat fish and tenderloin, 4-H bake sale and a game room for kids. Dinner is $9 for adults, $4.50 for ages 6 to 12 and free for kids age 5 and under. The Green Township Community Center is located at 2768 E. 300 S. in Noble County.

Aluminum Can Drive sponsored by Churubusco Youth Football League. Save your cans and call 693-0674 or 260-229-0217 for pickup at your convenience. Churubusco History Center is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Stop by and relive life in earlier times through photos and memorabilia.

2nd Monday of Month
Alzheimer’s Support Group Meeting for caregivers of persons with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias. All meetings are confidential and free of charge. Tuesday
Churubusco Community-wide Free Food Service in cooperation with Community Harvest Food Bank will give away free fruits, vegetables, milk, bread and misc. to local residents at the Churubusco United Methodist Church, 750 N. Main Street, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. No income restrictions, open to all in the area. For more information call 693-2154.

Freedom Through Art (FTA), 6 to 8 p.m. at Lutheran Military Veterans and Families Ministries, Inc., 1615 Vance Ave., Suite 3, Fort Wayne. Informal art program for veterans. FTA is a free wellness program and is free to any veteran. 260-755-2239 or 637-6618; lmvfm.org/.

Churubusco Elementary School PTO Meeting at 7 p.m. in the Elementary Library. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Wednesday
Food Pantry at St. John Bosco Catholic Church open 4 to 6 p.m. Serving Churubusco and 8 mile radius.

Second Thursday of the Month
LaOtto Park Association Meeting at 7 p.m. in the community building. Park Cafe is open for breakfast and lunch 5:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Saturday. For more information call 637-6011.

2nd & 4th Thursday
Wolf Lake Free Health Clinic open from 1 to 7 p.m., now located at 524 Branch Court, Columbia City (facing ACE Hardware).
